Essex Aviation Group, Inc. is pleased to announce they have successfully completed the acquisition of a 2011 Cessna Citation CJ4 for New England Donor Services (NEDS). Essex has been working with NEDS for the past four years as their business aviation advisor. In 2013, NEDS retained Essex to assist them in evaluating third-party charter options and to advise them on the option of transitioning to a dedicated aircraft. After deciding to move forward with a dedicated aircraft, Essex represented NEDS in negotiating a unique lease solution for a Citation CJ3, which has been utilized for the past three years. With the CJ3 lease term expiring, Essex was again retained to represent NEDS in the analysis and acquisition process of a CJ4 to support its life saving mission going forward.
Essex advised and managed the negotiations on behalf of their client throughout the complete acquisition process to ensure that all expectations were addressed. Essex also worked with NEDS in the structuring of the transaction assisting with the evaluation of various proposals that were received to either lease or purchase the aircraft. Essex also accompanied the aircraft and provided on-site technical support during the pre-purchase inspection, final acceptance, delivery and transfer of title.
NEDS coordinates organ and tissue donations in the six New England states and Bermuda. Through its two affiliated organ procurement organizations, LifeChoice Donor Services and New England Organ Bank, and its centralized tissue donation services operations, NEDS serves over 200 donor hospitals, of which 14 are transplant centers, and thousands of donor families each year who have generously made the decision to donate. The CJ4 will be a critical component in supporting NEDS’ life-saving mission, helping NEDS safely transport organs, tissues and surgical teams within New England and when an organ becomes available out of the region.
