Essex Aviation Group is proud to announce that it has successfully completed the pre-purchase inspection process, acquisition, and final delivery of a Dassault Falcon 2000EX EASy to a high-net-worth client in the private equity business — but that’s only a fraction of the story.
The client had previously acquired a Falcon 2000 from their now former management company. The client intended to use their aircraft for a combination of personal and business use, as well as offer some third-party utilization through the original aircraft management company. The management company from which the client had acquired their Falcon 2000 also provided budgeted operating cost and charter revenue projections.
Unfortunately, the client’s experience was that their actual operating costs exceeded budgeted projections, while their actual charter revenue came in well below the projected amount. This prompted the client to seek out Essex Aviation for assistance.
The Essex team worked closely with the client to review their operating costs. We also helped the client identify and transition to a new aircraft management company that was better able to support ongoing aircraft operations and deliver a more consistent level of charter revenue.
Not long after the client brought Essex Aviation onboard, they decided to upgrade from their classic Falcon 2000 to a Falcon 2000EX EASy. We worked with the client to list their Falcon 2000 for sale, secure a buyer and oversee the pre-purchase inspection, which included scheduled aircraft inspections and engine maintenance work.
The Essex team was able to find and secure a deal for an off-market Falcon 2000EX EASy — located in Basel, Switzerland — to replace the client’s current aircraft. From there, we called upon our network of technical support providers in Europe to conduct a full on-site review and to oversee the pre-purchase inspection and preparations for the aircraft’s departure to the United States. Stateside, we managed the aircraft’s exportation out of Europe and importation into the U.S., ensuring a seamless transition every step of the way.
“This was an exciting project for us to work on, not only because it demonstrates the wide range of services we have to offer, but also the strength of our network,” said Lee Rohde, President and CEO of Essex Aviation Group. “We’re so pleased to have been able to find both the ideal management company and the ideal aircraft for our client’s particular requirements.”
