Essex Aviation Group recently assisted a first-time aircraft buyer with the acquisition of an Embraer Phenom 300, a best-selling light business jet capable of carrying up to 11 occupants. The client, a legal firm based in Texas, had been utilizing a charter card program and was therefore familiar with the various aircraft model options that would meet their needs. This made the process much easier when it came to narrowing down the choices to meet their travel requirements.
We evaluated multiple aircraft models using the clients’ specific criteria, eventually selecting a pre-owned Phenom 300 as the ideal solution for their regular business travel. The aircraft is certified for single-pilot operation and can achieve a maximum range of 1,971 nm (2,268 mi) with its two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535E engines. The flight deck features a Garmin Prodigy 300 avionics package with three 14.1-inch panel displays for high visibility. Due to its light jet classification, the Phenom 300 can be flown out of smaller, private airports such as Dallas Love Field.
The aircraft was purchased from Dallas Jet, an IADA broker (like Essex) who represented the seller. Following the acquisition, we assisted the client in selecting and contracting an aircraft management company, which will handle the ongoing operation and management of the aircraft for the owner.
“This acquisition went very smoothly, which is what you want for a first-time partnership,” said Lee Rohde, president and CEO of Essex Aviation. “The client was pleased that we were able to assist them with the selection of a management company that will sustain their positive acquisition experience.”
When it comes to pre-owned aircraft acquisitions, the Essex team leverages our collective decades of experience in the private aviation sector to identify the optimal solutions for our clients, from entire corporations to high-net-worth individuals. Beginning with a full transportation analysis, we comb the market for aircraft that suit highly specific performance, financial and operational criteria. As a full-service consultancy, we then manage the pre-purchase inspection, technical acceptance process, title transfer and even facilitate necessary upgrades or refurbishments following closing. Our end-to-end approach — coupled with our extensive expertise — gives our clients peace of mind that every box has been checked.
